Our Story
How a family dream turned into forty acres of chickens, blackberries, and purpose.
It Started With a Dream
Blackberry Hollow Homestead did not happen overnight. It started the way most good things do — with a feeling. A pull toward something simpler, slower, and more connected to the earth.
We traded city sidewalks for gravel roads, office chairs for chicken coops, and the hum of traffic for the sound of wind through the blackberry brambles that gave this place its name.
Every day brings something new — a first egg from a young hen, a garden bed finally producing, a sunset that stops you in your tracks. The work is hard and the hours are early, but there is nowhere else we would rather be.
More Than a Homestead
Today Blackberry Hollow is a working homestead — chickens, goats, garden beds, a couple of barn cats who think they run the place (they might be right), and more blackberry brambles than we can ever pick.
We also opened our doors to the community. Our pet sitting and farm sitting services grew out of neighbors asking for help — and us realizing we love caring for animals of all kinds, not just our own.
Whether you are here to read our blog, browse the gallery, or book a stay for your furry family member, we are glad you found us.
What Guides Us
Simple principles for a good life — on and off the farm.
Care First
Every animal, plant, and visitor is treated with genuine care. That is the baseline, not the bonus.
Work With the Land
We follow the seasons, respect the soil, and try to leave this corner of the world a little better than we found it.
Honest Living
No shortcuts, no pretending. Homesteading is hard, beautiful, and endlessly rewarding — and we share all of it.
Community Roots
A farm is nothing without its neighbors. We share what we grow, help when asked, and keep the gate open.
