Why We Started Offering Farm Sitting Services

It started the way most things do around here — a neighbor needed help.

"Could you check on our chickens this weekend? We have a family thing." Of course. We already had chickens. What is a few more?

Then another neighbor asked. Then someone down the road with goats. Then the family two miles over with horses, dogs, cats, and a very opinionated parrot. Before we knew it, we were the unofficial farm sitters of the area.

Making It Official

After the fifth or sixth request, we decided to make it a real offering. Not because we wanted to run a business — because we wanted to do it well. Having a proper system means:

  • Written care plans for every farm
  • Walkthroughs before every sit
  • Daily photo updates
  • Emergency protocols
  • Insurance and reliability

Why We Love It

Every farm is different. Every animal has its personality. The goat who only lets you pet her left side. The rooster who crows exactly at 5:47 AM. The dog who needs his blanket folded a certain way. These details matter, and we love learning them.

There is also something deeply satisfying about helping people take a vacation without worrying about the creatures they love. Everyone deserves a break — including homesteaders.

If you have been putting off that trip because you cannot find someone you trust with your animals, we would love to talk.
